Have you heard about the formula crisis going on in China? Apparently manufacturers were in a financial bind, and decided it would be a good idea to stretch their resources by adding a chemical called Melamine which is used in plastics, and as flame retardants in their milk powder Link. My guess is they didn't think about the consequences before they made that decision. The repercussions of that have caused four dead infants, and approximately 60,000 sick. Many suffering from kidney ailments.
Although this happened in China, who's to say the problems wont hit home? We've already had a crisis with the pet food that was imported Link, and don't forget about the toys that were tainted with lead. The products that are being imported need stricter guidelines before people die from negligent testing Link.
